MOSCOW, Dec 3 (PRIME) -- The Russian–Turkish talks on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project have been suspended, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters Thursday.
“At present, the talks are suspended, all the more that in accordance with a government ruling work of an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation is suspended,” Novak said.
Ïas giant Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said that Turkey should address Russia to hold the talks if it needs the Turkish Stream project.
“As far as the Turkish Stream is concerned, first of all, Turkey should address us if it is interested in this project. Turkey has not so far turned to us with such a proposal. If it does, we will consider it. Turkey has not turned to us with a proposal to build the Turkish Stream,” Miller said.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a ruling to introduce restrictive measures against Turkey, but the Turkish Stream project was not included on the list.
